What are the types of containers in sea freight?

The types of containers used by sea freight to transport goods are relatively diverse, and they are classified according to their use. Containers are generally divided into the goods contained in the boxes:   

(1) Dry Cargo Container (Dry Cargo Container) This kind of container is also called a general cargo container. This kind of general cargo container is used to transport general cargo without temperature control. Due to the wide range of use of such containers, the proportion of general cargo containers can be described as about 85%. Such containers are generally closed, with a door at one end or side. This kind of container is usually used to ship cultural goods, chemical supplies, electronic machinery, crafts, medicine, daily necessities, textiles and instrument parts, etc. All kinds of solid goods that are not affected by the temperature change and are not affected by temperature changes can be shipped by this container.

(2) Keep constant temperature container (Keep Constant Temperature Container) is generally used to transport goods that require refrigeration or heat preservation.

(3) Tank Container (Tank Container) It is a container specially used to transport liquid cargo such as alcohol, oil (such as animal and vegetable oil), liquid food and chemicals with sea freight. It can also ship dangerous goods with other liquids. This kind of container can be generally divided into single tank and multiple tanks. The loading port on the top of this bulk container is usually provided with a cover with good water tightness to prevent rainwater from entering the tank.  

(4) Platform Based Container (Platform Based Container) It is a container without a box top and side walls, even the end walls are removed, but only the bottom plate and four corner posts. This kind of container can generally be loaded and unloaded from front to back, left and right, and above, suitable for loading long and heavy goods, such as heavy machinery, steel, steel pipes, wood, steel ingots, etc.
